Brewers name Chase Anderson opening day starter
MILWAUKEE (WLUK) -- Chase Anderson has been named the Milwaukee Brewers' opening day starter.
The right-hander is coming off the best season of his major league career in 2017, when he posted a 12-4 record, with a 2.74 ERA, 133 strikeouts and 41 walks in 141.1 innings.
According to the Brewers' website, manager Criag Counsell said free agent signee Jhoulys Chacin will pitch during the opening series in San Diego. That gives the team some flexibility with Zach Davies, who has been dealing with an oblique injury during spring training.
The Brewers open the 2018 season March 29 at San Diego. The home opener is April 2 against the St. Louis Cardinals.
