'Be The Light Walk' held to educate the public on suicide prevention
GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- Saturday, hundreds of people gathered in downtown Green Bay for the "Be the Light Walk".
The event is geared toward educating the public about suicide, and the stigma that goes along with it. Suicide is on the rise this year in Brown County.
Various agencies manned educational booths in an effort to prevent suicide.
Those lost to suicide were remembered.
"This is about preventing suicide but it's also about Today is National Suicide Survivor Day so this is also targeted at the survivors of suicide," said Erik Cornelius, director of the event.
All the money raised during the event stays in Brown County to help with suicide prevention.
