DE PERE (WLUK) -- FOX 11 is once again teaming up with Partners in Education for the annual Golden Apple Awards.

On Tuesday, FOX 11's Michelle Melby visited some Heritage Elementary school classrooms in De Pere to talk about the Golden Apple Awards and to give the teachers a sweet treat of appreciation.

Leann Bussee teaches 4th grade and the students say she's pretty good at it.

She says teaching is her love.

"Every day is something new and to see these smiles and get these hugs and have fun with them, makes it all worth it," Bussee said.

In the classrooms, students were told how to nominate a teacher who's made a positive impact on them for a Golden Apple Award.

Students can go online to fill out the nomination form.

"I think it really spotlights the great work that goes on in school and in the classrooms. The love that teachers have for teaching kids and instruction," said Kathy Van Pay, Heritage Elementary Principal.

The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, April 19.
