Singing in the Shower promotion at Mile of Music promises scholarships
APPLETON (WLUK) -- We're two days away from the start of Mile of Music in Appleton.
And one of this year's sponsors is hoping the event will not only support local artists, but maybe even create a new one. That's the goal behind Tundraland's Singing in the Shower initiative. Company officials say if 250 event-goers sing in the shower, one music scholarship will be awarded to an area student.
Event officials say this year's festival will include some new acts, but crowd favorites will also be making appearances.
"We're going to have some of the same kind of featured items that people really like -- we're going to have some great shows out at Houdini Plaza and Jones Park, as well as throughout all those indoor venues, but we're also going to have the bus again," co-founder Dave Willems said.
Mile of Music runs from Thursday to Sunday along College Avenue.
During the Singing in the Shower announcement, two Mile of Music musicians gave special performances. Watch Kyle Megna and Jackson Mankowski sing in the videos above and to the left.
