Veterans honored in Milwaukee over 4th of July weekend
MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee County is honoring veterans this Fourth of July weekend with free passes to city attractions. The three day pass allows service members into six places across the city all weekend long.Friday, they had a day at Summerfest.Saturday, it was the Domes and Discovery World.Organizers say it is their way of giving back to those who deserve it."A pat on the back is nice, but being able to actually provide something for your family, for a couple generations, I think that's very valuable, but then that's the kind of community Milwaukee is," said Discovery World CEO Joel Brennan.Sunday, veterans will receive VIP treatment at other places too. They will get free access to the Milwaukee Art Museum and the Milwaukee County Zoo.
