Officials investigating house explosion in Madison

MADISON (WLUK) -- Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a house explosion in Madison.

A smoking pile of rubble is all that remains of the home that exploded before 2:00 p.m. Wednesday.

The house is on the far southwest side of Madison, at the intersection of S. High Point Road and Stratton Way.

WMTV reports, a person and a firefighter were injured. The person was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and the firefighter was treated on scene.

The fire chief says the residents haven't been located yet.

Neighbors are being told to stay away from the area while investigators look through the debris.
