MILWAUKEE (AP) - Friends and family members of a 10-year-old girl who was fatally shot on a Milwaukee playground are calling for an end to gun violence.

Hundreds gathered to honor Sierra Guyton with a vigil at the playground Monday night. Guyton died Sunday at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. She was shot in the head by a stray bullet May 21 while playing at Clarke Street Elementary School, where she was in the third grade.

Family members told stories about Guyton and attendees advocated to get guns off the streets. Gutyon's mother collapsed while sobbing during the memorial. Children released dozens of balloons into the sky.

Guyton's grandmother tells WTMJ-TV she doesn't want another grandmother or parent to cry because a child was killed.
