State Rep. Duey Stroebel, of Saukville, released a column Monday stating his support in general for term limits for members of Congress. State Sen. Glenn Grothman, of West Bend, issued a statement in response saying if elected he would serve no more than 10 years.
Stroebel then said he has no intentions of serving more than 10 years if elected.
A third Republican running for the seat, state Sen. Joe Leibham, of Sheboygan, says he would serve no more than 12 years if elected. A fourth GOP candidate, Tom Denow (DEE'-noh) of Oshkosh, says he also supports term limits.
All four are running for the seat being vacated by Rep. Tom Petri, who is retiring after serving 35 years in Congress.
