WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) - A groom in London, Ontario saved the day after he helped a young boy struggling to swim.

Clayton Cook and his bride Brittany were taking pictures when a young boy was pushed into water by another child. Darren Hatt, the couple's photographer, captured the scary moment on camera.

Hatt told CTV News, “the kid was under water on his back. He ingested water and there was mucous coming out of his nose.”

As Hatt tells it on his Instagram page, the bride noticed what was going. As she shouted for help, her husband was already in the water saving the young boy. Hatt said on Instagram, "his quick action saved the little guy who was struggling to swim. Well done sir!"

Commenters on Hatt's Instagram page are calling the groom a "hero" and a "winner."

“It was good timing. It happened so fast. He (Cook) must have been super quick,” Hatt said to CTV News.

The bride, Brittany Ross Cook, posted on social media wishing the boy best of luck according to LF Press.

“Thank you all for your kind words for my husband," Cook said. "We only hope this kid is OK and that this is a lesson to all about keeping your kids safe, especially around water.”
