Driver with 75 previous arrests facing charges after woman killed in hit-and-run
HAMILTON, Ohio (WKRC) - A suspect has been arrested in a fatal hit-and-run in Hamilton. Steven Rogers faces charges of aggravated vehicular homicide, aggravated vehicular assault, leaving the scene of an accident, OVI and drug abuse.
Police say Rogers hit two women on Martin Luther King near Pershing Avenue Thursday evening and left the scene. Allison Reyes Castillo, 18, was killed. Ann Marie Wages, 38, remains in critical condition. At one point, police said the coroner had reported that Wagers had died but then issued a correction.
A citizen followed the driver. Police stopped Rogers not far from the scene. Officers said the found meth and suboxone.
Rogers is locked up in the Butler County jail. Police say that Rogers has been arrested at least 75 times so far.
Rogers is facing several charges including aggravated vehicular homicide, driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.
