GREEN BAY - Some teddy bears are making a difference at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.
Some student athletes at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay collected the bears at a women's basketball game in February. They were delivered Tuesday.
Some of them were given to pediatric patients at the hospital, while others were saved to give to future patients.
Those involved said it was a great gift to give to the children.
"We have lots of events each year where we engage our student athletes and the community and some kids can't make it so today we go to them,” said Adam Halfmann, assistant athletics director for marketing and promotions at UW-Green Bay. “It’s really great to see the joy they have from getting something new and talking with our student athletes.”
More than 260 bears were collected.
