Salvation Army throws baby shower

GREEN BAY - The Salvation Army is making a difference for mothers in need.

The Brown County Salvation Army threw a baby shower for expectant mothers Thursday.

Twenty moms and moms-to-be were invited.

Everyone received a gift basket with something for their baby.

Those involved say they're happy to try to make things a little easier for the women.

"It’s important because the moms we've invited here today are all the moms that maybe couldn't go out an afford to purchase all of these items new, so this is a way of getting them the things that are very much needed for the new child they'll be welcoming,” said Nan Pahl, Salvation Army social director.

Most of the donated items were from a Burlington store that opened on Green Bay's west side.
