People go bald to raise money for cancer research
GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- People gathered at Saint Brendan's Inn today to make a difference for children with cancer.
It was all part of the 13th annual Saint Baldrick's head-shaving event that raises money for children's cancer research.
The over 150 participants included men, women and children of all ages.
They gathered donations for months leading up to the event..
Those with longer hair could also donate it to "Wigs for Kids."
Organizers say just the online donations reached $70,765.
In the past 13 years, they have raised over $1 million.
"It brings the community together, we have anyone from the Brown County Sheriff's Department to the Green Bay Yacht Club, PCM, different teams that come together and it just brings the community together for such a good cause."
A similar event was held Friday at Notre Dame Academy.
Seven people shaved their heads and raised money for cancer research.
