Mascots help ring bells for the Salvation Army
BELLEVUE - Some area mascots are making a difference in the community.
Local mascots, such as Jeremiah from the Green Bay Bullfrogs and the St. Norbert College Green Knight, joined the Salvation Army to help out the "Christmas in July Campaign."
They showed up Friday at Copps in Bellevue for a friendly competition.
Each mascot tried their hand at ringing bells to see which fury creature could raise the most money.
The Salvation Army says there's no better way to connect with the community than with a mascot.
Kathryn Pahl of the Salvation Army says, "it's just a great opportunity. Sometimes you're out at a game or at an event with a mascot and you might not get to get up close with them and get your high fives, so this is a great opportunity for the community to come out and see their favorite mascots as well as support the Salvation Army."
