Manitowoc event helps make a difference for people in need
MANITOWOC (WLUK) -- Volunteers were in Manitowoc Saturday to make a difference for others in the community.
It's part of the 11th annual Touched Twice ministry event.
Touched Twice is an international ministry which meets the needs of those in the community and spreads the word of God.
The event, sponsored by the Salvation Army, provides medical screenings, clothing closet, haircuts and personal care items.
The day also featured a group meal.
The event typically draws in around 500 residents each year.
"Our highest event had about 800 individuals come through, and other than that, our first year was maybe like 350, the last three years it's been around 500, 550," said Lisa Stricklin, Touched Twice Event coordinator.
The Touched Twice first began in Kentucky in 1996.
