Lorelei Inn gives back with Oktoberfest event
ALLOUEZ (WLUK) -- A German restaurant in Allouez continues to make a difference for local charities.
It's the Lorelei Inn's 11th year celebrating Oktoberfest with the community.
What started as a traditional Oktoberfest with beer, brats and music, has now grown, adding a component of giving back.
While the event is free to get in, the Lorelei says it's asking for a $5 donation.
With that money, the restaurant says over the past three years, they've been able to donate $30,000 to local charities and organizations.
It's a lot of work to put on but the owners of the Lorelei say it's worth it.
"It's a lot of fun, it's good for charity, I also think it's good for Allouez too," said Lorelei Inn owner, David Hack. "It's just a great opportunity and a platform to be charitable to all these great organizations here."
Lorelei's Oktoberfest on Webster Avenue will be going on until 10:00 p.m. Friday and on Saturday, noon to 10:00 p.m.
