GREEN BAY - Some area firefighters are making a difference in Brown County.
Nearly 100 members are taking part in the Fill the Boot campaign.
The goal is to raise $30,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
This is the 60th year for the campaign.
New this year is a challenge featuring the MDA Ax. Whichever fire department collects the most money keeps the ax for a year.
Those involved say every penny helps.
"Just in a small way even with the small amount that we raise compared to the national numbers, what we raise is a small amount but that amount helps make a better day for a lot of folks with MDA,” said Doug Doefer, Suamico Fire Department.
Some departments will take to the streets in August.
All of the money raised will help support MDA and send kids to MDA summer camp.
