Truck misses curve, goes through guardrail and crashes into SUV on I-41

NEKIMI (WLUK) -- The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office says two people were hurt after the driver of a pickup truck missed a curve, drove through the guardrail and down the embankment and ended up on I-41.

Officials say the crash happened about 10 minutes before 4 a.m.

As a 23-year-old Oshkosh man headed south on Highway 26 between Poberezny Road and I-41, he missed a curve. Eventually, his truck ended up on I-41 north and crashed into an SUV driven by a 53-year-old Texas man.

Both were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The crash closed a portion of the interstate for at least five hours.
