Wild rice seeded in bay
GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- Nearly 2,000 pounds of wild rice was seeded in the bay of Green Bay Tuesday.
It's one of a series of projects to restore the aquatic ecosystem.
Volunteers will hand seed the rice at six sites along the bay's west shore.
Organizers say the project continues the restoration of the lower bay.
"It's really exciting to be a part of the project and to have so many great partners that was are working with; really pretty much a collaborative effort that's taken place the last few years. The wild rice project is a good opportunity to work together on a worth-while project to restore lower Green Bay," said Amy Carrozzino, coordinator of Lower Green Bay Restoration Project.
The re-seeding project will continue all week.
