Volunteer program offers free Easter meal for those in need
APPLETON (WLUK) -- The "We Care Meals" program, made sure no one spent Easter without a good meal, and good company.
The organization, held its annual Easter dinner at the Capitol Centre in Appleton Sunday.
The volunteer program, operated through the Menasha Goodwill, provided a free meal for those in need.
Volunteers also make home deliveries, for those who can't make the event.
Event organizer, Ed Rathsack says the goal is to make sure no one spends the day alone, "Some of these people come here, they don't get out much, they don't have much to eat. They don't have a lot of money to go out to eat, and a lot of them are just lonely. They do not have any family or friends to come over and talk to them."
Rathsack says around 125 volunteers participated in the year's event, delivering more than 200 meals to those in need.
