NEW LONDON - Two men were arrested Saturday night after a fight that was broken up by police.

It happened just before 5:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Wallace St.

Police say one of the subjects had a gun.

As officers arrived, a subject was walking away from the scene- and police say he was sweating and had blood on his hands and pants.

Officials say the 20-year-old New London man had an unloaded gun in his waistband; he was subsequently taken into custody.

Officers say the man was uncooperative and appeared to be intoxicated. The man claimed to have been involved in the fight after seeing a 19-year-old New London man strike a female.

The man said he pistol-whipped the 19-year-old in the head and a fight ensued.

Authorities say the 19-year-old man had visible head wounds and was bleeding from the head.

Officers say he was currently out on a signature bond through Waupaca County for a prior Battery.

The 19-year-old man is being referred to the DA on charges of: Disorderly Conduct and Felony Bail Jumping.

The 20-year-old man is being referred to the DA on charges of: Possession of Drug paraphernalia, Endangering Safety by use of Dangerous Weapon while intoxicated, Carrying concealed weapon, substantial battery and Disorderly Conduct.
