Tricycles donated to the Salvation Army
GREEN BAY - Ten shiny new tricycles are making their way to the Salvation Army of Brown County for children in need.
Festival Food showed off the trikes Wednesday and loaded them up to be dropped off at the Green Bay office.
The trikes were donated by the grocer.
Associates assembled the tricycles.
Workers say the project was a great team-building exercise.
"Those of us that are a little less mechanically inclined were still even able to put the bikes together. We're pretty sure they're safe for the kids to ride. No, it was a great event. Everybody loved it,” said Nick Arlt, public relations director for Festival Foods.
The Salvation Army plans to donate the trikes through its Transitional Housing Program and annual Christmas Assistance Distribution.
