Spilled meat renderings shut down highway for 9 hours
TOWN OF ROSENDALE - Highway 26 has reopened to traffic after authorities closed down both lanes for several hours due to a semi crash.
Both lanes of the highway were closed for nearly nine hours after 25 tons of meat renderings spilled onto the road.
Authorities say the driver of the truck missed a curve and ended up in a ditch. The semi then overturned when the driver tried to get it back on the road. Officials say the truck belongs to Sanimax of Green Bay.
According to the Fond du Lac Co. Sheriff's Department, Joshua Martinez was the driver who lost control of the truck at 2:40 a.m.
Martinez was transported to Ripon Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
