ThedaCare acquisition of area hospital, health system moves forward

APPLETON - A Wild Rose hospital and health system will officially begin becoming part of Appleton-based ThedaCare at the end of the month.Employees of Wild Rose Community Memorial Hospital and Community Health Network will become part of ThedaCare on Jan. 1, company leaders say. However, ThedaCare says it has already started installing electronic medical records at both WRCMH and CHN."This is an exciting opportunity for Waushara, Green Lake, Marquette and Fond du Lac county residents," Dr. Dean Gruner, ThedaCare president and CEO, said in a news release. "We will now be able to work together even more than we have in the past to provide the best care possible to people living in our area."ThedaCare leaders say the acquisition will allow for greater access to more specialists, streamlined access to care for patients, a no-layoff philosophy for all employees, access to more financial resources and participation in quality improvement projects which the company says have led to reduced waiting times, better patient care and lower costs.
