Bowler barn fire
TOWN OF ALMON - Lightning from storms in Shawano County is believed to have started a fire that destroyed a barn.It happened around 5:30 a.m. Monday on Old County D Rd. in the town of Almon. No animals were inside. The barn stored hay, grains and some equipment. It took firefighters several hours to get the fire under control, partly because of the age of the barn."The barn itself, being the age of the barn, the timbers and everything being really dry it burns just like paper once it gets going and with the hay and stuff it just adds fire to the fuel... or fuel to the fire," said Fire Chief Dan Ladwig, Bowler Fire District. No injuries were reported.
