Sen. Baldwin comments on new tell-all book on Trump

Sen. Tammy Baldwin comments on "Fire and Fury" book in Green Bay, Jan. 5, 2018 (WLUK)

APPLETON (WLUK) -- Some Democrats say the controversy surrounding the tell-all book on President Donald Trump and former White House Chief Strategist, Steve Bannon, is taking attention away from important issues.

During a stop in Green Bay Friday, Democratic Senator Tammy Baldwin said she has not read "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House," but says it is just the latest in a series of distractions.

"If we had fewer of these distractions, tweet-storms, cable TV shout fests, and really focused in a bi-partisan way on the struggles and challenges that real Americans face, we would be in a much better place," Baldwin said.

Readers in the U.S. and Britain waited in lines to get a copy of Michael Wolff's controversial tell-all book on the Trump Administration.

It was supposed to hit book shelves on Jan. 9 but due to huge demands, the book was released Friday.

The book is also popular online as it's currently number one on Amazon's best seller list.
