Police: Shepard admits involvement in fatal shooting

GREEN BAY - A man arrested recently has admitted to his involvement in the fatal shooting of a man in Green Bay in April - but says he was acting in self-defense, according to police.Terry Lee Shepard, 22, was arrested in Racine last Thursday after allegedly tying up a woman and beating, strangling and robbing her. Police in Green Bay had been looking for Shepard since April. That's when Steven Sims was shot and killed in the 1100 block of Stuart St.Shepard is being held in Racine County, where Brown County authorities interviewed him. Police say they don't know when he might be taken to Brown County to face charges.Shepard is charged with first-degree intentional homicide in Brown County.
