Peshtigo student in custody following school threat
PESHTIGO (WLUK) – A high school student is in custody after a threat directed toward Peshtigo Schools.
According to a Facebook post on the Peshtigo Elementary Learning Center’s page, a threat made via social media was made Sunday.
“(As) a result, he was interviewed and arrested by the Peshtigo police department. The student remains in custody and there is no longer any threat associated with this incident,” the post states.
According to a news release from police chief, Joseph Fitzgerald, police received information, “that a student from Peshtigo High School was going to shoot up the school. Officers identified the student and the juvenile was taken into custody.”
School remains open.
