Oshkosh passes teen sexting ordinance
OSHKOSH, Wis. (WLUK) -- The Oshkosh city council voted unanimously Tuesday to pass an ordinance dealing with minors sharing illicit photos.
Under the current state law, teens who share nude photos can be charged with child pornography, which can land them on the sex offender registry.
The new ordinance will allow to police to write the teens tickets and send them to a program for first-time offenders.
The Winnebago County District Attorney and the Oshkosh Police Department are behind the measure.
