Oshkosh heroin suspect sentenced

OSHKOSH- The lead actor in an Oshkosh area heroin distribution ring, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison.

29-year-old Sherman Maurice Threets of Oshkosh had previously entered a guilty plea to a single count of conspiracy to distribute heroin.

Threets was previously convicted of possession with intent to distribute cocaine in Fond du Lac County in 2005 and again in Winnebago County in 2007.

Threets was on state supervision for both crimes at the time of his federal indictment.

Chief Judge Griesbach noted that Threets presented danger to the community, especially by shifting his drug dealing business from cocaine to heroin.

Threets will also spend an additional 10 years on supervised release.
