Pelkin's Smokey Meat Market issues voluntary recall

CRIVITZ (WLUK) -- A meat market in northern Wisconsin has issued a voluntary recall on a number of its products.

Pelkin's Smokey Meat Market in Crivitz is recalling a range of its sausage products Wednesday.

The company says the products were processed using wheat, which is a known allergen that was not declared on the label.

The products being recalled are:

  • Skinless Wieners*
  • Jalapeno and Cheddar Wieners
  • Cheddar Ring Bologna
  • Cooked Mettwurst Links
  • Andouille
  • Ring Bologna
  • Jalapeno & Cheddar Summer Sausage
  • Jalapeno Wieners
  • Pepper Jack Summer Sausage
  • Lg. Sliced Pepper Jack Summer Sausage
  • Reg. Summer Sausage with Cheddar
  • Slicing Reg. Summer Sausage with Cheddar
  • Beef Summer Sausage*
  • Cheddarwurst*
  • Beef Wieners*
  • Jumbo Wieners
  • Smoked Beef and Pork Polish Sausage

All the products were sold between April 3 and May 1, 2017 at either the Piggly Wiggly store in Coleman or directly from the producer's store in Crivitz.

All products include "WIS. DEPT. AGR. INSPECTED 113" on the package.

The product is safe to those who do not have an allergy or intolerance to wheat.

Consumers can return the recalled products to original place of purchase or discard them.
