Oconto woman dies more than a week after crash
OCONTO COUNTY (WLUK) -- A 29-year-old Oconto woman has died more than a week after her vehicle was involved in a crash.
The Oconto County Sheriff's office says it was notified of the woman's death on Sunday. The crash took place April 28 on Hwy. 41 just south of Brookside Road in the Town of Pensaukee.
When emergency crews arrived around 2:20 a.m., the woman's small SUV was off the road, flipped over and on fire. Sheriff's deputies found the woman about 40 feet away from the vehicle, in some vegetation.
Investigators say the woman was apparently headed south when she lost control and went off the right side of the road. Alcohol appears to have been a factor, according to the sheriff's office. No one else was in the vehicle.
Sheriff's officials say they will release more information later. The woman's name was not released.
