Marion High School teacher charged with sexually assaulting a student
MARION (WLUK) -- A Marion High School teacher was charged Friday with repeated sexual assault of the same child, and child enticement.
Timothy Gast, 43, of Shawano, posted a $5,000 cash bond after his initial court appearance Friday in Waupaca County Court, court records show.
He returns to court Tuesday for a balance of initial appearance.
Marion police say an 18-year-old student at Marion High School notified police of inappropriate text messages she received four years ago from a teacher, as well as alleged sexual contact.
After an investigation, police arrested Gast at the school district office.
“The student came forward with the allegations after the Marion Police Department gave an Internet Safety presentation to the students at the Marion Jr/Sr High School. Gast has been placed on indefinite leave by the Marion School District,” the release by Chief Kevin Schultz states.
Gast was ordered to have no contact with the school, the victim or any individuals under the age of 18. He faces three counts of child enticement, and one count of repeated sexual assault of the same child.
The Marion School District website lists Gast as a music teacher.
