Motorcyclist sustained severe head injuries in Appleton crash
APPLETON (WLUK) -- A man was sent to the hospital with critical injuries after a motorcycle vs car crash in Appleton.
The crash happened at 3:16 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of N. Ballard Road and the off-ramp of I-41.
Police say a vehicle was travelling southbound on N. Ballard Road and a motorcyclist was exiting the off-ramp of I-41 when the two collided.
The motorcyclist, a 51-year-old man from Seymour was taken to the hospital to be treated for serious head injuries. He was not wearing a helmet, police say.
The driver of the car, a 16-year-old girl from Appleton, and her passenger, were not hurt in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation but preliminary indications show the motorcyclist went through a red light and was struck by the vehicle that had a green light, police say.
At this time, no citations have been issued.
