Meetings set to discuss bowhunting in Manitowoc
MANITOWOC (WLUK) -- Those interested in bowhunting in the city of Manitowoc can learn more at two meetings in August.
City officials say the meetings will be held at noon and 6:30 p.m. Aug. 9. The meetings will cover the purpose for the hunt, permissions needed and the regulations for hunting in city limits.
More information and applications can be found at the police department from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, or on the city's website.
City officials say the deer population causes damage and problems for property owners and drivers.
Since 2007, bowhunters have bagged 281 deer in the city.
