Manitowoc neighborhood burglarized multiple times this month

MANITOWOC (WLUK) -- Manitowoc Police are reminding residents to lock their home doors and windows after at least five burglaries have been reported in the past ten days.

Police say the burglaries occurred during the daytime, indicating that the suspect or suspects are attempting to enter the homes when no one is home or are watching the home and making entry when the residents are seen leaving the home.

On Friday, a robbery was reported in the 1500 block of New York Avenue. Police say the resident left her home around 8:30 a.m. and returned around 11:15 a.m. to find her door had been kicked in and home burglarized.

Other burglaries were reported in the 800 block of N. 14th Street, the 800 block of N. 15th Street, the 900 block of N. 15th Street and the 900 block of N. 16th Street.

Police ask residents that if they see suspicious activity happening in their neighborhood, they should report it to Manitowoc Police at (920) 686-6551.
