Deadly officer-involved shooting in Kewaunee Co.
FRANKLIN (WLUK) -- Officials are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Kewaunee County.
Kewaunee County Sheriff Matthew Joski says the shooting happened at 8:04 p.m. Monday near a home on County Road AB in the town of Franklin.
“It was adjacent to some residences but in regards to the overall scene again it’s very dynamic and it’s not necessarily secluded or isolated to a given residence. I can say it is somewhat a broad scene," said Matt Joski, Kewaunee County Sheriff.
The suspect, a male is deceased and the officer is unharmed, deputies say.
"I want to hesitate in providing any premature information that would undermine the investigation. We owe it to the victim, we owe it to the officers and we owe it to the community, so we have to be patient and we have to walk through this very slowly and methodically," Sheriff Joski said.
The Division of Criminal Investigation is on scene.
Sheriff Joski says the public is not in danger.
