Kimberly senior heads to U.S. Naval Academy
KIMBERLY - A Kimberly High School senior has been honored with an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy in Maryland.
Bryson Kasper received a certificate from 8th District Congressman Reid Ribble.
Kasper says he's wanted to be a midshipman for a long time.
"I've always wanted to go to the Naval Academy since I was younger. It just opens up a lot of doors to the future and I like that," Kasper said.
He will be among 1,200 new midshipmen receiving an appointment in the fall. More than 4,000 were nominated.
When he graduates in four years, he will receive his diploma and a commission as an officer in the Navy.
