Kewaunee Co. social worker's memory lives on in annual food drive
ALGOMA (WLUK) -- An event along the lakeshore is making a difference for those without food this season.
The 5th annual Holiday Memorial Food Drive kicked off in Kewaunee County Monday.
The drive is held in memory of Sarah Malay who worked for Kewaunee County's Human Services Department.
The food drive helps stock shelves at the Kewaunee County food pantry.

Those who knew Malay, who died in 2013, say she was passionate about helping with others.
"Sarah was a very compassionate person, always trying to find ways to give back to the community and we thought this was a fitting memory for her to continue that giving and community focus that Sarah brought while she was with us," said social worker, Rhonda Rummel.
In the last four years, the drive has has collected more than seven tons of food to the Kewaunee County Food Pantry.
Donations can be made through Friday, Dec. 22.
