Keshena man sentenced in child assault case

KESHENA – A 50-year-old Keshena man convicted of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl is headed to prison.

Federal prosecutors announced Thursday that Leslie Miller was sentenced in mid-April to 42 months behind bars and 10 years probation.

The sentence was the result of a guilty plea by Miller in January.

Around January 1, 2013, Miller and his wife were watching a movie with the girl in their bed. After Miller’s wife fell asleep, investigators say he sexually assaulted the girl. Miller later admitted that he assaulted the child.

The incident happened on the Menominee Indian Reservation.
