APPLETON (DOT) - The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is announcing a full OVERNIGHT closure on US 41 northbound at the US 41/WIS 47 (N. Richmond St.) interchange in Outagamie County on Wednesday, July 2 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. US 41 southbound at the same location is closed OVERNIGHT tonight, Tuesday, July 1, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., but will not be closed Wednesday night due to construction finishing earlier than expected. During these same times, WIS 47 (Richmond Street) will be closed and motorists will need to seek alternate routes. The closures will reduce US 41 to one lane with traffic diverted up and back down the interchange ramps. Motorists should anticipate backups on US 41 at this location, use caution and remain alert to signing directions. The $4.2 million project will raise the clearance under the bridge from 15 feet to 16 feet 9 inches minimum - this is the last bridge along US 41 in Outagamie County to be raised. The bridge deck is also being widened from 39 feet to 39 feet 11 inches and the lanes are being reconfigured to add a separated bike/pedestrian lane. Work is expected to be completed in October.
