Some still without power day after storms

UPDATE: As of 7:45 p.m. WPS says 1,233 customers are without power.

(WLUK) -- Around 3,800 Wisconsin Public Service customers remained in the dark Thursday morning.

The utility said that number was current as of 9 a.m., less than 24 hours after storms plowed through the area.

The highest concentrations of customers without power were in the Waupaca area, where 2,600 were in the dark; the Stevens Point area, where 830 had no power; and the Green Bay area, where 160 were without power.

Wisconsin Public Service crews have been working nonstop since the weekend as several rounds of storms have moved through the area. Since Sunday, WPS says crews have restored power to more than 154,000 customers.
