Packers LB is Making a Difference with new playground at local school
GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- A Green Bay Packers linebacker is making a difference for students at an area elementary school.
Jayrone Elliott unveiled a new 1,700-square-foot playground at Lincoln Elementary in Green Bay. The new playground features multiple slides and interactive games, and has enough space for 40 students.
The project was made possible by a $27,000 grant from UnitedHealthCare given to Elliott's "Dreambuilders" program, a non-profit that works with pro athletes across the country to help financially, physically and mentally challenged children.
"It's a big deal because the fans keep our game going so we try to get out in the community and give back as much as we can," Elliott said. "We understand that kids grow up and looking up to us so we try to give back to them as much as we can."
The addition makes this Lincoln Elementary's second playground. The first was donated to the school by the NFL's Play 60 progam.
