A De Pere woman is making a difference by sharing warmth this holiday season.

Grace Treml, also known as "Grandma Grace," has been making blankets for kindergartners at Howe Elementary for three years.

This year, with the help of four of her grandchildren, Treml was able to donate 129 blankets.

She began making blankets five years ago after reading about the needs of some area school children.

She thought the children would be in need of a nice warm hug so she decided to make fleece blankets.

Treml says seeing the children happy is the best part of the process,"It's right here when they come up and they receive their blanket and they give you a big hug, that's the best part."

Treml believes it's important to give back and hopes that this will help inspire her grandchildren to give back now and in the future.
