Donald Driver hosts charity softball game
GRAND CHUTE (WLUK) -- Green Bay Packers Hall of Famer Donald Driver, got close and personal with fans Sunday.
As a part of his "thank you" tour, Driver is hosted a charity softball game at the Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute.
The stadium, looked more like a Packers game day Sunday, as fans, dressed in Green and Gold, filled the seats.
They were there to support the former Packer, who has captured the hearts of fans, like Amanda Kuba of Appleton, "We have been Donald Driver fans, since he's been playing, so we're excited to be here."
Kuba and her sister Molly, also had their sights set to see some of the other players on the star-studded roster, which included former Packers, athletes, and celebrities.
"I'm excited to see Nick Collins, he was a former Packer, so excited to see him, and the other team Jenn, who is from the biggest loser."
Some even made a weekend getaway out of the event, like Michelle Zivicki of Milwaukee, "We stayed overnight in Appleton just to be here today."
Throughout the game, fans lined the fence of the outfield, hoping to get an autograph or two.
Also, the chance to catch a fly ball, from their favorite Packer of all time.
"I was born in Green Bay, So I've been a big Donald Driver fan, since I was born," said Anthony Damp of Oshkosh.
As it might be the last Donald Driver charity game, fans say number 80 will always have a place in their heart.
'I've been to almost every Donald Driver, softball game, that he ever had," Damp explained.
All proceeds from the game will go the Donald Driver Foundation.
