Black bear spotted 3 times in Green Bay neighborhood

GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- A black bear was sighted in a Green Bay west side neighborhood earlier this week, police say.

The bear was spotted in the area of Lombardi Middle School three times Tuesday.

  • The first sighting was at 10:10 am behind Lombardi Middle School on S. Point Road.
  • The second sighting was at 6:56 p.m. in the 2800 block of Lobelia Court.
  • The third sighting was 8:46 p.m. in the 2600 block of West Point Road.

Police say the bear was not spotted with any cubs and appears to have a fear of humans.


The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has been notified of the sightings.

Bears typically do not show signs of aggression unless they are with cubs or threatened.
