Billy Joel takes the stage at Lambeau Field
GREEN BAY (WLUK) - Lambeau Field came alive Saturday night with more than 40,000 Billy Joel fans packing into the stadium.
Joel took the stage at 9:01 p.m. starting off with the 1982 hit "Pressure" and following that sang "Moving Out" for the excited fans.
The opening act for Joel was indie pop artist Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness. He was scheduled to take the stage at 8 p.m. after the gates opened at 6:30 p.m.
Since the Lambeau Field renovation this is just the third musical concert to take place in the bowl. Country singer Kenny Chesney headlined Lambeau Field concerts in 2011 and 2015.
Thousands of fans tailgated around Lambeau Field ahead of the concert, similar to festivities prior to a Green Bay Packers game.
Back in February when the concert date was announced the Packers made Billy Joel an official shareholder of the Green Bay Packers.
