Accused diaper thief pleads no contest
OSHKOSH (WLUK) -- One of two men accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of diapers belonging to a charity has pleaded guilty due to a no contest plea.
John Forbes appeared in court Thursday.
Forbes and Jason Havel are accused of stealing more than 1,700 cases of diapers. The diapers were being stored at a Valley Packaging storage facility prior to being donated to the Fox Cities Diaper Bank, an initiative that assists low-income families with their diaper needs.
Officials say both Forbes and Havel had worked at the facility so they had knowledge of security measures. Investigators believe Forbes and Havel had plans to resell the diapers.
