Green Bay volunteers take part in National Women Build Week
GREEN BAY - Some area women are building new skills, and at the same time, making a difference for others.
It's National Women Build Week.
Saturday, more than 20 volunteers got out their tool boxes for a good cause.
The women partnered with Habitat for Humanity and Lowe's to help build a home for the Jaimes' family.
For some it was a new experience, while others were there to oversee the project.
Habitat officials hope the event will give the women the tools they need to continue helping in the future.
"You don't have to have any experience to get out here, and that's what it's all about, is trying to get people out here who don't know about construction and teach and educate them so they can," said Shannon Wiegman with Habitat for Humanity.
The women worked on the garage and foundation portions of the home.
