Green Bay farmers market debuts in new location
GREEN BAY - With the sun out and no cloud in sight, Saturday was the perfect day for the opening of the Green Bay farmers market.
It debuted in its new spot, on South Washington street between Walnut and Stuart Streets.
This is its fourth permanent location in nearly a century.
Thousands of people were up bright and early to check out almost 70 local food and craft vendors.
And it's been getting rave reviews.
"We've been getting very good comments, specifically, I heard from a woman in our first hour, a resident from our area, who came to the market and said, 'I could live down here.' That just gave me chills because that's part of why we want an activity downtown," said Jeff Mirkes with Downtown Green Bay, Inc.
The farmers market will be held every Saturday through the end of October.
It runs from 7:00 a.m. to noon.
